Eat healthy, stay healthy
Mak Bau believes that regular exercise is the single most important thing one can do to stay healthy. To him, “people living in the countryside seldom worry about their weight because they do a lot of physical activities”. That’s why he has been encouraging his kids to learn swimming, playing tennis and cycling since they were young. He also loves to take them out to the countryside on holidays.
Mak Bau and his family also try to maintain a healthy diet. Their family meals always include plenty of vegetables, white meats, seafood and a healthy soup, like one made with vegetables or winter melon. A typical workday lunch for Mak Bau is a light meal of rice served with vegetables or vegetable soup, as well as skinned chicken. Sometimes he makes his own lunch sandwich with home-made brined beef or pork shin.
