Served with “Bau”, and a Whole Lotta Love
Education starts at the dining table
Mak Bau arrived at Hong Kong at the age of 12 and started to do outwork to top up the family income. To this day, he continues to work hard to provide for his 12-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son. He comments that “children of today’s generation have access to food choices once regarded as luxury, like lobster and salmon, as parents are willing to spend more money on their children”. To teach his children not to waste food, Mak Bau is very vigilant on the amount of food he ordered when dining out.
He believes that growing small plants such as cherry tomatoes is a good pastime for children because they can learn that things from the nature should be cherished.
