Pork with Assorted Vegetables
The dish has an attractive appearance. Meat paste stuffed in baby cabbages is mainly made up of lean pork which is low in fat and fresh in taste. With no sugar added, the dish is suitable for the elderly and the young.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
Water Chestnut | 3 pieces |
Fresh Shiitake Mushroom | 3 pieces |
Lean Pork | 180 gm |
Corn Starch | 40 gm |
Baby Cabbage | 8 stalks |
Taro Leaf | 1 piece |
Cordyceps Militaris | 3 pieces |
Chinese Chive | 4 stalks |
Chicken Broth | 4 tablespoons |
Starch Water | mix 2 teaspoons of starch with 10 tablespoons of water |
Seasonings:
Salt | 1/2 teaspoon |
Cooking Method:
1. | Rinse and dice water chestnuts and fresh shiitake mushrooms. |
2. | Pound lean pork by using the back of a cleaver. Then add water chestnuts, fresh shiitake mushrooms, salt and corn starch. Mix well into paste. |
3. | Stuff meat paste in baby cabbages. Steam cabbages and then put them on the taro leaf. |
4. | Spread cordyceps militaris and Chinese chive on top of the meat paste. |
5. | Thicken chicken broth with starch water, then pour it over the dish. Serve. |
