Braised Beef Cubes with Pumpkin, Mango and Green Bell Pepper
Sweet pumpkin blends well with mango which is sweet and sour. Sweet green bell pepper brings out the flavour of the beef.
Ingredients (Serve 2):
Beef | 80 gm |
Pumpkin | 100 gm |
Green Bell Pepper | 30 gm |
Red Bell Pepper | 25 gm |
Mango | 25 gm |
Straw Mushroom | 25 gm |
Canola oil | 1 tablespoon |
Garlic | 1 clove |
Broth (pork) | 5 tablespoons |
Starch Water | Mix 3 teaspoons of starch with 2 tablespoons of water |
Seasonings:
Salt | 1/2 teaspoon |
Sugar | 1/3 teaspoon |
Starch | 1 teaspoon |
Cooking Method:
1. | Dice beef. Marinate with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and starch. Blanch and set aside. |
2. | Dice pumpkin, green and red bell peppers, mango and straw mushroom. Blanch and set aside. |
3. | Dice garlic and set aside. |
4. | Heat oil in a wok. Stir-fry diced garlic. Add beef cubes, pumpkin, green and red bell peppers, mango, straw mushroom, 1/4 teaspoon of salt sugar and broth and stir-fly until done. Thicken with starch water. Serve. |
